I am one of the co-founders of kleene.ai (formerly Minoro), a data engineering platform. I am responsible for all system architecture, deployment of cloud infrastructure and database administration. All of the ETL components and the front end applications are written in Clojure. As well as the day to day data processing jobs, I have also written a number of database management tools, an automated email ingestion service and several monitoring and error reporting services.

My role was predominantly writing code in Clojure to extract data from various sources, including APIs and JSON files and to output it in a flat file format for importing into Redshift. As well as writing the code, I also figured out the system architecture and decided on the best setup to use. Some of the Big Data tasks, I ran on Amazon EMR clusters, and then optimised Spark to be as efficient as possible.In addition to these jobs, I also started experimenting with Chat Ops, writing monitoring apps to output results to Slack channels.
