The goal was to propose strategies to facilities to other essential organisations including hospitals, GP practices, bush nurses, ambulance services, and researchers to improve links and care delivery to residents. The project involved exploring the feasibility of “communities of practice” to support aged care in areas of early clinical deterioration, resident autonomy, and the abuse of older people. The second area of focus involved investigating how to implement ethics advisory services for the residential aged care sector to support staff and residents with navigating ethical dilemmas that arise during caregiving.Research undertaken will be conducted with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine and the design of pilot programs will be coordinated with Safer Care Victoria and the Victorian Department of Health.
