I joined the Office Project product management team as a result of the UMT Portfolio Manager acquisition. Responsibilities included:Office Project Portfolio Server: Integrated the UMT Portfolio Manager with Microsoft’s EPM Solution to provide customers with an end to end project and portfolio management platformProduct Planning: Worked closely with the development team to help set the direction for the next release.Positioning & Messaging: Responsible for defining the positioning and messaging frameworks for the Project 2007 and 2010 releases Solution Marketing: Collaborated with cross product teams to build demo environments and marketing collateral to showcase key horizontal and vertical solutions. Industry Analysts: Interacted with key industry analysts to ensure the EPM Solution was favourably positioned in vendor assessments. A notable achievement was ensuring the EPM Solution was listed as a leader in the 2007 Gartner Magic Quadrant

Responsible for the creation and commercialization of UMT Portfolio Manager, a top down portfolio management solution that was acquired by Microsoft in January 2006- Product Mgt Processes: Established the product management team and related processes at UMT- Product Roadmap: Analyzed the IT Portfolio Management market and interacted with top tier customers to identify emerging trends and highlight functional gaps in order to define the product roadmap - Requirement Definition: Responsible for creating and approving the detailed specifications for all features included in each release- Development & Testing: Collaborated with the offshore development team to ensure each feature was delivered in accordance with the specification and within release schedule- Release Management: Ensured all relevant documentation was available ahead of each release (e.g. marketing literature, product release notes, user manual updates, training material etc.)

Worked with organizations to implement best practice portfolio selection techniques designed to ensure the selected projects / investments aligned with the businesses strategic priorities:- Analyzed existing demand management and portfolio selection processes and recommended improvements- Held workshops with executives to define and prioritize business drivers - Derived objective priority scores (e.g.. strategic value, financial value, and risk) to evaluate the competing projects from varying dimensions- Utilized optimization and advanced portfolio analytical techniques (e.g. Efficient Frontier Modelling) to recommend the optimal project portfolio under varying resource constraints- The adoption of the best practice portfolio selection processes increased the financial value and strategic value gained from the resulting project portfolio by 20% - 40%
