Lead Design Engineer
Current• Designed shell and tube heat exchangers while applying knowledge of ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 Code and TEMA recommendations• Reviewed customer specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the clients’ design criteria, schedule, and budget to create an approved design that met all requirements• Provided mechanical calculations using COMPRESS software to determine the appropriate design from concept to fabrication• Worked with drafters to generate engineering drawings in compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company policy• Selected proper weld procedures to be used in fabrication of the heat exchanger• Communicated with customers and shop personnel internally and externally to provide engineering assistance on technical issues and/or concerns that arise• Ensured all engineering documentation and communication transmitted to customers was recorded during the approval process and release for fabrication• Prepared bill of materials for long lead items at the beginning of each job and the balance of materials once calculations and drawings were finalized
