Co-ed, professional business fraternity with 350+ chapters worldwide. I was the president of the Rho Chi chapter at Chapman, where I oversaw and lead a chapter of over 100+ members, 10 executive positions, and 14 committees, and acted as the main point of contact between our chapter, the business school, chapter advisers, and national headquarters. I organized events, held weekly meetings, developed partnerships with multiple on-campus groups, and tried to establish a vision for the chapter going forward.Definitely the most challenging (but rewarding) experience of my undergraduate career.

After my sophomore year of college, I still had no idea of what I wanted to do so I decided I'd take a shot in local government as a way of giving back to my community. I worked full-time as an intern with the Planning Department in the City of Sausalito, carrying out multiple research projects, organizing an online database of all resolutions/ordinances the city had passed since January 1997, and learning more about what local government was like behind the scenes.Some highlights:• I compiled a usable inventory of all businesses in a designated commercial-residential zone around Caledonia Street to determine if there was a prevalence of ground-floor office uses; data presented to City Council on July 19, 2016• I aggregated data from surveys regarding the regulation of short-term rentals and created a weighted average ranking of community preferences; data presented to City Council on July 26, 2016• I worked closely with the building inspector on his daily field inspections and saw multiple remodeling projects in numerous stages of development

After my freshman year of college, I interned at Energy Passport - a subsidiary of Yingli Americas - and gained my first experience at an "office job". As a research analyst, I examined financial statements of competing companies to evaluate company performance, researched SREC markets in numerous states to determine the most viable markets for solar, and carried out various ad hoc projects for the team. I learned the basics of Excel, time/project management, professional communication, and ultimately that I had a lot more to learn.My time there culminated in a month-long, self-directed research project I undertook to figure out a way to quantitatively score the best prospective locations for a new office (the company was looking to expand at the time), which would eventually get presented to the entire team. I did this by developing a weighting model that took numerous Q.O.L. factors into account (i.e., tax rates, cost of office space, educational attainment, etc.), and ranked over 50+ cities that the team had flagged as potential destinations. My top choice was Boise, ID. Not sure if they actually followed through with that, but it was a good exercise.

For 3 years in high school, I worked as a cashier at Driver's Market. I managed inventory, trained new hires, and gained a foundation in customer service. I also learned about the difficulties of starting a new business, the importance of a healthy team culture, and the names of way too many different types of tomatoes.
