What a journey… ResourceiT had no in-house copywriting support until they brought a friendly freelancer (me) into the fold in 2020. That guy (still me) went on to become Senior Copywriter and now heads up the company’s copywriting function alongside a team of crack copywriters as Creative Lead. How do I fill my days?I don’t. They’re filled for me. In addition to shaping how we communicate as a business, I oversee all of the content produced across our projects. That means working with clients to understand and untangle briefs, develop content strategy and come up with big ideas. I still do a good deal of writing, too.It sounds glamorous, yet the reality is a lot of meetings and barrel loads of red ink.But the results and stakeholder smiles are worth it. Is it all clever words and brainstorming?Not always. On the admin side, I get my hands dirty defining new processes alongside our client services and demand generation teams to elevate the way we work. Elsewhere, I upskill and onboard new writers to ensure our content consistently exceeds expectations.So, it’s a business and creative role?You could say that. I work closely with the MD and senior management, contributing to strategic growth and fighting relentlessly to raise the ResourceiT content bar. In addition to less sexy tasks, I develop new creative approaches, offer up internal inspiration, help us win pitches and drive innovation across campaigns.By the time I’ve finished all that, I’m ready for a glass of wine and a nap.

I write compelling to and through channel marketing copy for a wide range of international technology companies. Producing long and short-form content across eBooks, white papers, animation scripts and social media, my role sees me interact with departments across the business to support the delivery of stand-out marketing campaigns.

Moving from a Senior Copywriter role to Head of Content, I oversaw a team of writers working on campaigns and standalone projects for major brands across a range of industries, including pharma, tech, retail, beauty and food. I developed the Article Ten editorial offering from scratch and drove key relationships with clients and internal creative teams in order to tell stories in the most compelling way.

Advising on editorial practice, digital marketing, branding and magazine voice. Offering support for marketing copy and smartphone industry and trends.

Commissioned and forward planned monthly magazine issues. Managed editorial team and promoted the iCreate brand through print and online campaigns. Developed cover concepts and feature artwork alongside design team. Worked closely with advertising team to help boost advertising revenue and cross promotion opportunities.
