In addition to the basic field specialist tasks, I use my GIS and data analysis background to manage all of LandPaths' GIS data and I create maps for the stewardship initiative and other landpaths staff. I manage our wildlife camera program. This program utilizes 12 wildlife cameras (arranged in an even grid on two preserves) and engages 30 volunteers in camera management and data analysis. I develop procedures and train stewardship staff on data tracking and volunteer-day procedures. I plan out stewardship project priorities and schedules with the stewardship field staff. I served on the equity committee, volunteer committee, and IT committee. I plan and lead most of our field survey and community science monitoring days including bioblits, SOD blitz, and forest density surveys, I utilize NEON CRM , ArcGIS, QGIS, Avenza, and R.

As a Stewardship Specialist, I work with the stewardship team to engage volunteers and students in habitat restoration and land stewardship activities. These projects include forest stewardship for ecosystem health and wildfire resilience, trail creation and maintenance, grassland stewardship, invasive species removal, infrastructure improvement, and monitoring.

I use the best scientific practices to inform management decisions at all three Sonoma State University preserves and on-campus riparian habitat. I work primarily on the creation and implementation of the SSU-CEI invasive species management plan. I also organize and analyze the SSU-CEI GIS data, bird audio data, and camera trap data.I led public virtual events on camera traps in research, open-source GIS applications, and backyard citizen science camera traps. I am the Terrestrial Habitat Group Lead and Video Production Coordinator for the Virtual Field Project.

I remotely assisted a student from UC Irvine with data analysis and methodology for her MS Thesis on the use of camera traps to study coyote habitat corridors. I set up and monitored cover boards to asses amphibian biodiversity at restored areas in a Squaw Bay marshland near Alpena. - Project Native: I visited nurseries and landscaping centers to discuss native alternatives to invasive ornamental plants. I created presentations about invasive plant species in Michigan to present to Michigan garden clubs. I designed the Project Native webpage and a map of current partners.-Frogbit Challenge: I led volunteers in the pulling of invasive European Frog-bit from various sites in the Alpena Wildlife Sanctuary.- Invasive Species Treatment maps- I compiled Huron Pine's invasive species treatment data and created maps using CARTO, Google My Maps, and ArcGIS.-I created a Best Management Guide summary for the Nothern Long-Eared Bat based on current research and technical documents.I assisted the summer field crew with invasive plant treatment, invasive plant surveys, and stream-bank revetments. I assisted the staff with road-stream crossing inventories.certifications in: Michigan Pesticide Applicator, Project Learning Tree, Project WildThis position was part of the Huron Pines Americorps program.

Arastadero Preserve

I advised on a camera trap project that will be used by Grassroots Ecology for management decisions,public engagement and education at Arastadero Preserve. I created a web page on zooniverse which serves as an education tool. I conducted an extensive literature review of literature on camera traps, protected area management, citizen science, mule deer, and coyote. I wrote two academic-style papers on Mule Deer and Coyote based off the data i have collected from Arastradero Preserve and one paper on modeling Mule Deer and Coyote presence using ArcGis. I also created a lesson plan for high school students to walk them through labeling camera trap photos and thinking about the ecology of animals that were present on camera trap photos. This project started as an individual project for the Stanford class entitled Earthsys276: Protected Area Management. The GIS work for this project was conducted for a final class paper written for Ess265: Advanced Geographic Information Systems

Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve

Patrolled Jasper Ridge’s borders and trails, checked gates, and reported to head ranger. Monitored animal behavior and trail condition. Participated in trail maintenance using portable saw and clippers.

I assisted with weekly grading of assignments, projects, and essays for an introductory ecology class. I helped plan field trips to Jasper Ridge (Stanford's nature preserve). I advised on good ecology methods and statistics for simple ecology class projects.

Rodolfo Dirzo Ecology Laboratory

I conducted original honors research under guidance of Professor Dirzo on the ecology of the Dusky-Footed Woodrat at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. I conducted transects in five vegetation communities to study the woodrat's macrohabitat and microhabitat habitat preferences. I analyzed videos from camera traps set up near woodrat houses to determine woodrat house occupancy, other animal activities, and to study woodrat behavior.
