Completed an intensive full-stack web development program with Parsity.io, a remote coding school. This experience provided hands-on training in modern web technologies and best practices. The course work initially focused on web basics such as HTML, CSS, building a solid foundation in up to date JavaScript technologies. After building that foundation we graduated to using React within the Nextjs framework and Redux for state management. Back-end technologies include Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and SQL. This program included specialized training in advanced JavaScript concepts, database modeling, and deployment strategies. Additionally, I collaborated with peers in AGILE environments using pair programming and Git workflows. Through both solo and group projects, I refined my understanding of full-stack principles, from front-end APIs to back-end database design, culminating in the deployment of full-stack applications.

As a commercial fisherman, I would go out on week to 2 week long voyages to harvest a quota of scallops. My time as a fisherman taught me how to be adaptable to ever changing situations on the boat. I learned the importance of teamwork, communication and how keeping a good attitude improves the overall moral of the work space. During a trip my main duties are cutting and processing scallops, handling hydraulic gear, navigating the vessel to and from the fishing grounds, cooking, helping troubleshoot any engine issues as they arise, and maintaining a clean and productive work environment.
