Profile bio

About Benjamin Hubert

I am seeking a position to utilize skills built during a career in the maritime industry. I have captained a wide range of vessels offering a variety of services. My time on inspected vessels began in Key West with Fury Water Adventures on 65ft catamarans. Over the past 3 years I have been the captain aboard term charter and SCUBA vessels in the Virgin Islands. My recent time in the Caribbean has exposed me to a regularly challenging sea state aboard complex vessels. The term charter vessels are all unique and have a multitude of systems: from plumbing, wiring, appliances, main engines, generators, sails, tenders, and toys. This environment, combined with the level of service expected from guests, has provided an amazing opportunity to expand my understanding of the maritime world and develop many skills within it. Prior to my captaining career in Key West I spent 6 years as the operation manager for 2 companies strongly rooted in the service industry. Having this management background continues to serve me well in many areas not often associated with captains. I am currently living in St. Simons Island, GA, pursuing a 200 ton USCG and commercial FAA pilot license. I am interested in employment that will put me in an environment near the water while I am furthering my education ashore. I am available for deliveries, general maintenance, marina service, boat sitting/monitoring, etc.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Photoshop, Corel Draw, and 12 others.
