Undergraduate Research Intern
• Conducted a research project alongside two other undergraduate students and a PhD candidate for public stakeholders in Prince George County, VA, estimating the effect of the county’s utility-scale solar facilities on house prices using hedonic price models, with findings to be presented at the Virginia Tech Summer Research Symposium• Learned and applied data wrangling techniques in R and geospatial technology to ensure valid and statistically significant regression results• Drafted a research paper to be published in an academic journal• Used R Shiny to create an interactive and accessible web app for the public to view and comprehend our findings• Completed 6 credits of coursework while simultaneously enrolled in this program
