I have worked in a number of healthcare positions in which I developed a philosophy to guide my work. The core tenets of this philosophy are giving patients space to openly communicate without shame or guilt, making patients feel heard with validation, and ensuring they do not feel alone in their care. While these principles are not all-encompassing, I believe they are a strong start and something I look forward to expanding throughout the rest of my career.During my time at UC Santa Barbara, I researched in a Cell Biology and Virology Lab in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology Department. Aside from learning 20 or so valuable laboratory techniques, I also learned how to lead a research team, write grant proposals, and teach scientific concepts to my peers.I also have started multiple organizations, and the common theme within these is my passion for fundraising for underserved communities. I have garnered experience registering businesses, obtaining permits, tax-exemption, and bank accounts.Additionally, I have worked as a lifeguard for many years, which allowed me to build a foundation in first aid and large-team communication in order to facilitate safety.
