My three paper dissertation focusses on the intersection of environmental politics and gender politics. During my time as a researcher at Notre Dame I have been awarded two separate grant awards to support projects researching gender quotas in Nepal and climate attitudes in the UK. I was also honored to be selected to be a Graduate Justice Fellow in 23/24 and to work with a cohort of justice focussed scholars.

In this role I focused on Alert's work in Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan and Afghanistan, contributing to the design of effective peacebuilding programmes, the development of strong M&E systems and processes, and producing wider learning on the peacebuilding themes we interacted with.

I worked on a number of fundraising initiatives, supporting teams across Alert's global profile with proposal development, writing and submission as well as researching opportunities and providing input on commercial contracting bids.

At this long established INGO I had responsibility for programming focussed around child poverty in nine developing countries, including the management of two DfID grants and a Comic Relief funded project. I was in constant communication with in-country partners and donors in order to design, develop and deliver the most effective programmes aimed at holistically tackling multi-dimensional poverty.

As part of the British Council’s cultural relations initiative in post-revolutionary Libya I worked in their teaching centre, primarily as a teacher but also helping to redevelop parts of their young learners program and delivering training workshops to Libyan teachers. My time in Libya gave me invaluable experience of living and working in an active conflict zone as the security situation unfortunately deteriorated towards civil war.

Teach For Palestine is an education focussed NGO that seeks to improve the chances of at risk youth in the villages and refugee camps of Palestine through a series of educational and social projects. I served a number of different roles during my time with Teach For Palestine including project co-ordinator, Assistant Director and, between July 2012 and July 2013, Executive Director. I was responsible for the entire day to day running of the organisation and oversaw the medium and long term vision of the NGO. My directorship included overseeing all aspects of human resources, budgetary and fundraising considerations, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and building and maintaining relationships with community partners.

Pioneers is a private, non-profit, bilingual school located Nablus, Palestine. With a focus on academic excellence and an aggressive scholarship scheme for gifted students from deprived backgrounds, Pioneers is one of the leading schools in the West Bank and works from a mission statement of aiming to create the future leaders of Palestine. During my time with Pioneers my duties included managing the English speaking division of the school which included up to 13 teaching staff and over 400 students.
