• Created core user data tables derived from request logs and application data. This system underpins most analyses at the organization today.
• Defined organizational KPIs in partnership with product managers. For example, ~20-30K very active teachers are responsible for most time on site and are now a primary focus of the organization.
• Led the first round of SAT efficacy analysis, results of which informed our press release: “Studying for the SAT for 20 hours on Khan Academy associated with 115-point average score increase”.
• Supported successful new hires on the Product Analytics team, which grew from 2 to 7 employees during my tenure.
• Supported strategic decision making through analyses. For instance, the classroom team developed assignment features when data showed that most active teachers were using the site’s basic ‘recommendations’ features..
• Led monthly continuous improvement data sessions with product and marketing teams.

• Developed and scaled "Mappers", a pilot that allows teachers to differentiate instruction on Khan Academy based on NWEA MAP test scores. Responded to teacher needs through close interaction: recruited schools, led.
• Promoted Mappers within Khan which led to MAP Accelerator, Khan Academy and NWEA’s primary back to school offering in 2019.
• Ran an early prototype version of MAP Accelerator at Inter-American school in Chicago by manually providing rostering, support, and custom data pulls to simulate our back to school offering. This has guided product.
• Managed the development of MAP Accelerator’s recommendation system to deliver personalized content to students and allow teachers to see and modify those recommendations (teacher view; student view).

Estimated the risk of low-dose rate radiation exposure using a meta-analysis of historic animal studies.

• Setup a pipeline in python to sync website data to bigquery now used for most analytics at the organization.
• Launched digital growth mindset interventions on Khan Academy’s platform.

San Francisco, CA, US

• Co-founded PERTS, an initiative housed at Stanford University that scales mindset interventions for students.
• Launched PERTS’ first web tool to deliver growth mindset interventions to students. Elements included sign in, program editor, program delivery page, and progress recording using PHP and MySQL.
• Developed the first version of the mindset meter to allow teachers to quickly assess the mindset of their students.

Posted a database online detailing the Janus experiments at Argonne labs. The Janus experiments were conducted from 1954-1991 to test the effect of irradiation on mammalian tissues. Our lab has rescued those tissues and is hosting them for the benefit of other researchers. To explore our project please see the following:mice.
