At N Brown, I work closely with marketing teams and key stakeholders to develop customer-level models aimed at optimising marketing strategies for well-known brands such as Jacamo, JD Williams, and Simply Be. My role involves building predictive models and leveraging machine learning to provide actionable insights that inform decision-making and drive business growth.One of my key projects has been the interest simulator, which combines predictive repayment modelling with simulations to forecast customer lifetime value. I collaborated with both marketing and product teams throughout the end-to-end development of this product—from initial scoping and building to deployment—ensuring that the model aligned with stakeholder objectives and provided real-time insights to optimise strategies.Earlier in my tenure, I worked with pricing and product teams to develop the Bayesian price elasticity model, which forms the core of N Brown’s award-winning pricing tool, PriceTagger. Additionally, I developed a Bayesian testing framework, enabling rapid A/B test evaluations to unlock valuable causal insights for stakeholders and drive more informed decision-making.Throughout my time at N Brown, I’ve honed my ability to solve complex problems, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and adapt to new challenges, which has strengthened my technical skills in machine learning, data modelling, and statistical analysis.

As part of the Capital Markets Training Program (CMTP), I completed intensive training in technical topics such as Unix, SQL, Python, and Excel, along with capital markets modules. This training equipped me with foundational technical skills that have been valuable in my career.I was then assigned to a client-based KYC project, where I conducted Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks on various legal entities. This experience broadened my knowledge of the business world and challenged me to quickly adapt to a new domain outside my usual area of expertise.A key responsibility was ensuring the quality and accuracy of both existing data and new data collected, making sure they met the client’s standards and could be properly extracted by downstream systems. This experience gave me a strong foundation in data quality management and reinforced the importance of clean, well-structured data—skills that are highly transferable to my work as a data scientist.Throughout this project, I developed core soft skills such as independent problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication. Meeting weekly targets and deadlines required close collaboration with team members to ensure thorough coverage without duplicating efforts. Clear and consistent communication was essential to streamline processes and deliver results.
