I want to keep learning, always.I have a particular passion for the life science, environmental, and space science industries, and want to pursue work that helps the public good. But, I welcome any and all opportunities to expand my knowledge and utilize my experiences in analytics, cloud software, data systems, and other data science skills. I excel in dynamic environments where I can use my strong critical thinking skills to effectively get to the root of issues, and I can adapt my language and conversation to suit any audience. Ensuring everyone is welcomed & included in the conversation to bring their best efforts is immensely rewarding to me, and I make sure all feel encouraged and aware as much as possible. I have done previous work with L.L.Bean, the Maine Space Grant Consortium's MERITS program, and Boston University's Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences, along with a variety of club projects and classwork. This includes leadership of the Software team on the BU Mars Rover Club, working with the Boston Climate Action Network, helping to update the Woke Windows Project, cloud-based Covid-19 policy analysis, and building an AI-powered astronomical object classifier to highlight a few projects. I am originally from Portland, Maine but am currently in the Boston-Cambridge area since graduating. I like rock climbing (specifically bouldering), all things nerdy, the natural world, and good-natured people.

Bu Mars Rover Club Member & Software Team LeadBoston University Mars Rover Jan 2022 - May 2024Boston, Massachusetts, United StatesAt BU's Mars Rover Club, I spent one year as a member of the Autonomous Navigation sub-team and one year as the leader of the Software sub-team with the goal of participating in the University Rover Challenge. Some of the projects we worked on during this time included planning and designing object detection, obstacle avoidance, autonomous navigation, along with controller, motor, and other movement systems. This also included coordination with the other sub-teams' work, such as communications systems and engineering, to work towards a completed rover. -
Is Platform Services InternL.L.Bean May 2023 - Aug 2023Freeport, Maine, United StatesAs the intern on the Platform Services Team in the IS department, I developed a billing visualization tool using Google Cloud applications to observe costs of Kubernetes and other cloud-based resources across the company. I worked and deliberated with prospective vendors to determine if any third-party resources could valuably increase the tool's complexity. During this project, I collaborated with the other Platform Services Team's systems architects to determine deliverables for project managers, update tasks, and carry the project from beginning to end. This tool is used to help specify complex billing, where overlapping Cloud resources make it hard to determine the root cause of Cloud costs. This is also where I learned the ins-and-outs of a well-run, healthy business, and how every member of its community contributes to the beneficial culture. -
Research And Data Collection InternMaine Research Internships For Teachers And Students (Merits) Jun 2019 - Aug 2019Portland, Maine, United StatesMERITS Program Title: "The Investigation of Materials and Mechanisms to advance Satellite Construction and Space Education Exploration Project." Tasked with stress-testing potential 3D-printed plastics to be used for CubeSats under the guide of Dr. Jeremy Qualls and Dr. SoYoung Han at the University of Southern Maine. Specifically checked the amount of material each plastic outgassed when put into a vacuum chamber along with its glass transition temperature. Also tested what plastics would print better using a preset 3D model of a CubeSat as a test for ease-of-access for companies and schools to create their own satellite experiments. Compiled and analyzed the data for every material, presenting our findings at an end-of-summer event to colleagues and faculty, along with which plastic we would recommend for a 3D-printed CubeSat experiment.
