Designed, modeled, and manufactured a Carbon Fiber Sidepod using Solidworks and Ansys Fluent CFD. Responsible for bodywork CAD. Led design decision-making for drag reduction via AoA adjustment, aero mapping, packaging, etc.Led aerodynamic validation and testing. Organized tufts testing and oil drop testing plans.Optimized and revamped our Excel database used to index weights of all parts and hardware across each division (aero, composites, powertrain, etc.) and each section of the car.Fabricated quality carbon fiber parts for the front and rear wings, sidepod, undertray, and other various composite elements. Parts were created from a combination of various carbon weave densities, orientations, cores, layup schedules, and curing methods.
