Materials Control Specialist
CurrentEssential Functions:• Manages and operates a supply warehouse.• Plans, coordinates and procures orders for distribution of finished products and materials.• Manage the supply organization. Formulate policies, concepts, and procedures to ensure an effective supply.• Conduct shift meetings.• Obtain, temporarily store and issue all supplies for other departments including parts for vehicle maintenance and repair.• Receive, inspect, process, store, issue, turn-in and exercise control over all incoming supplies at the warehouse.• Conduct inventories, dispose of excess material, research discrepancies and process adjustments, as necessary, on items managed.• Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.• Operate automated equipment, special purpose government vehicles, and material handling equipment.• Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies supporting maintenance requirements in accordance with established policies and procedures.• Research product requests and back order non-filled issue requests.• Review and evaluate all purchase requests for complete and accurate information and file all relevant paperwork there-in.• Responsible for the cross communication between shifts.• Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.• Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.• Maintain a clean; neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed.• Track progress of materials/purchase requests to completion.• Performs any other qualified essential functions as assigned by the Line Manager.
