While we were making Murdered: Soul Suspect, Ben was the Lead Gameplay Animator and one of the pillars of the animation department. He oversaw the creation of all animations for the NPC’s, player character and side quests. Ben organized and directed a very talented team. He kept their quality bar very high throughout the entire project, which excited and motivated other leads to the same. Ben’s technical experience was another asset that bolstered our department’s efficiency. He helped to create a pipeline that allowed the design team to quickly apply thousands of animations into the engine with very little effort. The animation team often relied on Ben’s deep knowledge of our tools to trouble shoot issues. He proved to be as technically inclined as he is creative. What stands out the most about Ben, in my opinion, is his soft skills. He is a true leader and great motivator. His collaboration and communication abilities are some of the most valuable weapons in his arsenal. In addition to that, Ben has an amazing talent for cultivating professional relationships with his coworkers. In the midst of long crunches and tight deadlines, he always offered an ear and advice to others around him. I hope that I get a chance to work with Ben again in the very near future.
