I graduated from the University of Louisville (UofL) in May of 2016. The education I attained there has helped me tremendously on my journey. I have two Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Communication from UofL. While in school I specifically focused on public relations, communication, writing, and video journalism. I managed to take on the daily roles of caretaker, babysitter, and entrepreneur while attending school full-time. Throughout my college career I wrote for several local publications including The Louisville Cardinal and The Voice Tribune. My freelancing provided me with the opportunity to travel, network, and branch out to various forms of writing over time. I first started marketing myself as a freelance writer and brand ambassador in 2011 and have since enhanced my skills as a journalist, editor, and website content writer. After graduating from UofL, I began an internship at Bandy Carroll Hellige (BCH), a public relations agency located in downtown Louisville. I worked with the PR team to coordinate, activate, and manage events and programs. I also wrote press releases, media advisories and PSA scripts for clients such as McDonald's, Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) and KentuckyOne Health. This internship helped me to hone my skills and knowledge pertaining to public relations, marketing, and writing. In the workplace my main goal is to prioritize the needs of customers and coworkers, keeping them well-informed and putting smiles on their faces. I look forward to any and all potential learning experiences I can gain in the future.
