Beth has dedicated her career to the realms of research, education and non-profit management and operations, spanning roles at the University of Tennessee, the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, ThreeCubed, and currently with ProSocial World. With creativity and love of collaboration, she excels in designing and executing comprehensive mixed methods social science research. Her research expertise lies in identifying metrics and indicators for impacts and outcomes of programs and initiatives, encompassing field observations, case studies, survey instruments, participatory action research, community engagement, social network analyses, and workshop design. Presently, Beth is engaged in researching the cultivation of individual psychological flexibility, adaptive capacity, compassion, and collaborative dynamics within groups. In the past, Beth's research has focused on climate justice, energy security, low-income energy efficiency programs, community resilience, innovation adoption, and information diffusion.Before taking on this pivotal role in her career with ProSocial World, motivated by the realization of the detrimental effects of a toxic workplace on one's overall well-being, she embarked on a life-changing sabbatical, dedicating herself to a journey of healing, well-being, and spiritual growth. It steered her towards a more compassionate, collaborative, and prosocial environment, epitomized by ProSocial World. There, her passion for research was not just reignited but also deeply enriched by the organizational culture and shared purpose. Now, Beth is leveraging her extensive research expertise to propel ProSocial World's mission forward, inspired by her own journey to promote environments that nurture both individual and collective growth.As a mother, she shares a passion for backpacking with her son. With her husband, she enjoys music festivals, travel, and nature, currently residing at the base of the Smoky Mountains with a few cats. Beth practices meditation and finds much joy in laughter.
