I am a Business Development Manager who is deeply invested in seeing small to medium businesses succeed. I have more than 15 years in the medical industry starting off as a medical receptionist and eventually training to become a nurse. I found my niche in general practice, worked smart as well as hard, and rose to the position of practice manager with the sole aim of being the manager that I always wished I had. I found out that I have a flair for the dramatic and that problem solving my way out out of a crisis might actually be a marketable skill so I became a Practice Management Consultant at a number of medical clinics and started branching out to other industries.During the pandemic, like many others, I reconnected with my inner gamer and creative side. I started working at Ukiyo, an indie creative studio handling their HR and assisting with narrative game design as a voluntary side hustle.Over the last couple of years, I took part in opening The Astell, a small clinic start up looking to provide excellent, boutique clinical care in a non-clinical environment. It has now become an allied & mental health collective in Brunswick. The side hustle has since given way to a real career within the entertainment and indie game industry. I am currently the CFO/Business Development Manager for Ukiyo. I have been part of developing Kitsunedo, a battle-royale style card game four years in the making which had a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2022. I was recently honoured to attended the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco under a scholarship to support greater female representation in the gaming industry. I am currently working with the writing team on the next installment in Ukiyo's flagship universe 'The Crumbling Prince', a journey called 'Sonata of Shadows' which is slated for release in late 2024.I am passionate about games that inspire empathy, compassion and change within our communities. One day, I would love for Ukiyo journeys to be a medium used in teaching children, teaching adults and treating mental illness.I am also the Business Development Manager for Sprout Online where we thrive at a personalised approach to digital marketing for bricks and mortar businesses as well as online brands.
