Varsity Car Wash has given me the opportunity to gain work experience during the school year while developing transferable skills, including nonverbal communication, time management, and problem solving. I am a team member responsible for guiding customers and their vehicles into the wash tunnel safely, pre-rinsing vehicles to provide a more thorough wash experience, and maintaining the property's visual appeal and functionality.

During my time with The Chapel, I completed three main projects supporting their HR manager, including performance review logs, an I-9 annual audit, and a cost analysis for a benefits renewal proposal. Through these projects, I developed an understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity within human resources and how extremely important confidentiality is. I also gained skill in Excel, filing, and grew even stronger in organizational abilities. My experience at the Chapel has not only introduced me to practical skills and experience related to all areas of HR, but it as also shown me what workplace culture, remote communication, and onboarding experiences can look like.

Starting at Burger King at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, I gained a unique understanding of proper restaurant protocols and customer service procedures. I provided friendly customer service taking drive-thru orders using Burger King-branded greetings and promoting new sandwiches. I also served fresh and well-prepared food while working in the kitchen, maintaining fast order fulfillment and a sanitized work area. Maintaining strong communication with my colleagues was always a priority for me, as well as being able to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
