• Conduct research projects to investigate eco-physiology of migratory songbirds using flow-through respirometry, stable isotope analysis, and molecular and biochemical assays.• Perform literature reviews, design experiments and field studies, apply for small grants, execute data collection, store and compile data in databases, statistically analyze data in R Studio using frequentist approaches (e.g., ANOVA, linear regression, generalized liner models, mixed models), write reports and research papers for publication, and present research at national conferences. • Design and build Arduino systems for automated biomonitoring. • Manage captive experiments. Write protocols for approval by UMass Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, oversee bird capture and husbandry, and communicate with UMass Animal Care Staff. • Work with other technicians and senior biologists to conduct bird surveys and field studies. • Work with the Bat & Bird Subcommittee and Offshore Bat Working Group to refine a guidance document for deploying acoustic monitors on turbines by developing a framework for sample size estimation using simulation-based power analyses.

• Conducted Western blot analyses to investigate protein expression and modifications. Prepared and optimized samples for electrophoresis, executed SDS-PAGE to separate proteins based on molecular weight and transferred them to membrane substrates for blotting, and validated antibody protocols for target protein detection.
