Created course curriculum and structure for ib visual arts, design & applied arts and pottery. Design and Implement curriculum for the Graphic Arts Program through Seattle Skills Center for the summer program. Introduce and teach students skills in Adobe Creative Suite as well as provide opportunities for students to learn about and get involved in Careers in Graphic and Digital Arts.

Managed all aspects of the photography and graphic design program, including inventory, budget, and assessments. I also created the course curriculum and structure, and implemented daily lesson plans. I continually utilized data to assess student learning and the effectiveness of teaching practices. And I developed marketing information to involve and interest students in the visual arts. I also made a few significant contributions during my time here, including: • Incorporated AVID high-engagement learning strategies to help close the opportunity gap and promote equity and equality in learning. • Revamped entire program, implementing measurable learning targets, rewriting curriculum, and restructuring projects to align with state standards. • Inventoried current equipment to identify missing and damaged items, using $8K budget to order new equipment.

Managed the operation of CTE program, striving to achieve goals within available resources. I planned future program needs and developed budget requests. I also taught photography and graphic design courses, creating a safe and structured learning environment. And I maintained a strengths-based and solutions oriented approach to improving the school community. I had a few accomplishments here as well, among them: • Established a committee for school improvement, inviting local organizations to partner with the school and encourage inclusivity. • Collaborated with two colleagues to rewrite district-wide digital photography and graphic design courses, aligning curriculum with state frameworks and learning targets. • Served on District Diversity Committee, working with parents, community members, and organizations to make diversity and equity an ongoing priority.• Acted as public relations manager for annual fundraising events including Tidefest, the largest source of revenue from the community. Increased event attendance 15%. Created and managed a student and community project to raise awareness of wildlife poaching and illegal animal trade, culminating in artwork show at Tacoma Art Museum.

Managed the photography department and taught photography courses. This involved procuring and maintaining classroom supplies, and providing differentiated instruction to students at a variety of skill levels. I applied classroom management techniques to create a positive and supportive education environment. A couple achievements here were: • Developed curriculum for the photography course to drive instruction through formative assessment and personalized learning, adopted by later instructors. Launched and managed a project where students applied photography techniques and knowledge to sell artwork as a fundraiser for a local charity. Directed budget development, fundraising, event planning, and advertising.
