Chief Executive Officer
CurrentResponsibilities include: implements policy decisions and strategic objectives as established by the AAPT Executive Board; contributes to the Board’s agenda, prepares position papers, advises, and offers motions; contributes ideas, analyses, and initiatives for the formulation and realization of the long-term goals and vision of the Association; is responsible for articulating the AAPT goals to its membership and the different constituencies within the larger physics and science community; shares the responsibility with AAPT’s elected officers, particularly the President, to represent AAPT in a positive and professional manner to a variety of bodies such as local AAPT sections and other professional societies, foundations and government agencies; manages the day-to-day business and operations within the AAPT Executive Office; addresses a variety of needs of the AAPT membership and its many representative bodies; helps shape the ideas produced by AAPT committees and sections into organizational goals, operational plans, and fundable proposals; prepares and manages the organization’s budget following the guidelines set by the Executive Board; and is an active participant in AAPT’s important fund raising activities.
