English Second Language Teacher
As a conversation assistant, I was responsible for using my initiative and creativity to design classroom resources, lessons, activities, materials, and games in order to encourage and engage secondary school and sixth form students in Spain in their conversational English practice. I truly seized this opportunity to bring positive change in the area I was based in, to enhance the future prospects of my students who usually would not have had the resources to practice their English with a native speaker, English is highly regarded in Spain and is therefore vital for future educational and professional pathways. In this role, I was responsible for not only my work in the school but also: completing a 120-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language course and engaging in cultural and linguistic exchange activities on a daily basis with my host families. This meant that I had to continually and efficiently prioritise tasks and organise my time in order to meet deadlines and complete work to a high standard.
