Jul 2021- PresentCurrently embedded within a client process design team, supporting them with the scheme design for a site upgrade. This has included preparing process design documentation in preparation for HAZOP and scribing the HAZOP. Presently I am assisting with the close out of HAZOP actions and updating of Process documentation.Sept 2020- Jul 2021Worked within the in-house Booth Welsh design team to deliver the process design of a new client facility from concept through to detailed design (completed while WFH). Included supporting the senior process engineer, the generation and development of P&IDs, process schedules and calculations, HAZOP involvement, checking of vendor documentation and liaising with client SMEs as well as other engineering disciplines ( Piping, instruments, electrical, projects). March 2020- Sept 2020WFH- assisting a client with the generation of instrument datasheets for a new facility in the USAJan 2020- March 2020Embedded within a client engineering projects team, based on the client site to support the process design and delivery of an upgraded in-line whisky and rum reduction system. Sept 2019- Jan 2020Carried out investigations at a client site to determine the cause of ineffective cooling during fermentation. A number of solutions were presented to the client along with a high-level cost-benefit analysis to implement each option.

January 2018- January 2020Writing detailed design specifications for the automation of the HVAC and Utilities systems within a client facility based on the User Requirement Specifications. This project involved extensive communication with the client and close collaboration with Booth Welsh Automation engineers to ensure the automation aligned with the clients needs.August 2017- January 2018Assisting the Systems Team to configure changes to a clients CIP (clean in place) process and SIP (Steam in Place) process and update the supporting documentation.June 2017- August 2017Detailed design of Steam Ejectors on a client site. This project required the analysis of various ejector arrangements to maximise steam savings within the process.

Summer Intern at Edinburgh Airport within the Health and Safety Department. This internship was awarded to me by The Saltire Foundation- https://www.entrepreneurialscotland.com/saltire-scholar-internship-programmeMy role within the Health and Safety department involved leaning out some high level Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into a standardised, user-friendly format which could be applied throughout all areas of the business. I also applied data analysis tools to health and safety data to monitor the frequency and occurrence of a variety of safety incidents (slips, trips and falls, workplace transport, incorrect PPE etc).

Research Interns at Strathclyde- Intern of the Year Award WinnerResearch Project: Water Treatment- Investigation Into the Degradation of Metaldehyde.Lab-based project testing the effectiveness of various chemical solutions (acetic acid, humid acid and low concentration sulphuric acid) on the degradation of the persistent water pollutant metaldehyde (found in slug pellets). Chemical solutions which were likely to be accepted by the public were chosen and tested over time to determine their effectiveness.
