  The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) regulates Victoria's building and Plumbing industries to protect the community and empower practitioners. The VBA is leading the Victorian Statewide Cladding Audit on behalf of the Victorian Government to reduce the fire safety risk of buildings found to have combustible cladding.The Main Roles and responsibilities:•Conducted site inspections according to legislative and business requirements.•Produced detailed technical reports related to matters of audit to strict deadlines.•Conducted evaluation and analysis including extensive documentation assessment, and recommendations for relevant actions which resulted in the acquittal of over 1500+ buildings determined to be out of scope for the audit and immediate council rectification of identified non-compliances.•Provided technical advice on matters related to VBA legislative functions to internal and external stakeholders throughout all project stages including building owners, owner’s corporation managers, Council building inspector/ MBS and Advisory Reference Panels members. •Developed and maintained up-to-date knowledge of all relevant building legislation, regulations and codes required to effectively carry out building audit functions through regular professional development training and mentoring.•Contributed to continuous improvement of business unit policies and procedures by considering legislative changes and best practice including identifying and developing proactive strategies to streamline business processes which resulted in more comprehensive and accurate data capturing for reporting purposes.•Actively participated and contributed in technical knowledge sharing across internal and external forums and business units.•Participated and performed other duties as required in unit and group/division projects and initiatives including peer support networks to monitor the safety protocols of onsite building practices during the Covid pandemic.
