For many years I considered teaching. It seemed to be a natural extension of what I had been doing as a father for many years. After 20-some years of mentoring my kids, professional peers, and employees, I had the chance to give teaching a try. Mt. Mercy University asked whether I would be interested in teaching graphic design as adjunct faculty. I agreed and had a great deal of fun with my new found responsibility. Positive peer and student reviews followed and I was retained for another two semesters, teaching a maximum adjunct load which evolved into a full-time graphic design professor position. Teaching was everything I had hoped it would be and I learned a great deal myself.
