In these disciplines, Project Management and Information Technology, Business Analysis, I am generally recognized as a leader and subject matter expert. Over the years I have supported projects in various project management functional roles in both single and multi-project environments. In 2018 I received my FAA Part 107 Airman’s certificate to become (to my knowledge) the first commercial small Unmanned Aircraft (sUAS) pilot employed by the city. Shortly there after we formed the City of Charlotte Remote Aviation Flight Team (RAFT). We currently have six pilots and support three aircraft. Our initial mission has been to provide low altitude aerial video/photo services for multiple city agencies. However, we have experimented with GIS mapping and hope to soon expand our capabilities into this arena. I have settled into the role of ensuring the airworthiness and safety of the team and aircraft. My career as a sUAS pilot has rapidly expanded into other paths, I am currently a part-time Adjunct Instructor at the Gaston College Regional Emergency Service Training Center (RESTC). I have had the privilege of educating Police and Fire personnel as well as a few private sector sUAS Pilots. To date I have trained approximately 25 to 30 Part 107 pilots and helped several agencies initiate their sUAS programs. I am often asked to speak at conferences and events on the topic of Unmanned Aviation. Recently I have become a Contract Associate with Blue Ridge Mountain Drones in Asheville NC.
