About Bill Morgan Wang
I am a graduate engineer currently working at BAE Systems Australia in the Electronics and Integrated services division at North Ryde.I completed my Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Space) at the University of Sydney with a first class honours. I have experience working on mechanical, electrical, software, space and mechatronic systems and like to pride myself on my knowledge in all these disciplines.I have worked on numerous mechatronic systems including a prototype cube satellite, autonomous parrot tracking robot and an electrocardigraph. Over the summer of 2016-2017 I completed an internship at Jenkins Engineering Defence Systems where I designed an antenna array for their low-cost Radar Electronic Support (R-ES) system for the Australian Navy. During the internship, I also received formal training in Solidworks Simulation 2016 and Solidworks Simulation Premium: Dynamics by an instructor from Dassault Systemes.I am also a part of the Advanced Engineering program. In 2015 I was a founder of the mock start up company, Wirad, that created wireless cloud based powerboards for large companies. We pitched the idea at ATP Innovations, Eveleigh and won an award from Michael Quinn, founder of Innovation Capital. In 2016 the Engineering Technology Education program sent my team and I to King School, Parramatta. There I delivered two one hour workshops introducing students to basic circuit design and logic gates. I have experience in Matlab, C and assembly programming. I have worked with multiple microprocessors including the Arduino, PIC18F452, PIC18F4520, Freescale's 68HC12 and the Raspberry Pi. I have also received university training in Matlab: Simulink, Multisim, Autodesk Eagle, PSpice, R Studio and Excel. I am currently in the middle of the BAE graduate program and in the middle of my first rotation.
Listed skills include Engineering, Microsoft Office, Research, Powerpoint, and 16 others.

Graduate Electrical Engineer
As a graduate engineer, I am currently going through the BAE graduate program. This involves completing four 6 month rotation working on various projects and teams.
Advanced Engineering Program
The Advanced Engineering Program is an invitation only program run by the University of Sydney targeting distinction average engineering students from multiple majors. The program allows students to work "in a small supervised project group tackling a specific engineering problem relevant to the community ". I have completed Year 2 Business Planning and Year 3 Engineering Technology Education and am enrolled in the fourth year unit.Year 3 Engineering Technology Education (2016)In this unit, each group was to present several workshops for Year 9 students to raise awareness of and interest in studying engineering. During this project, learnt of the importance of client and group management and how crucial they are to a successful product. Due to a miscommunication with our client, instead of presenting one technology workshop to a single class, we were expected to present six workshops to 220 Year 10 boys at Kings School simultaneously. But by working together as a team we overcame this crisis and successfully presented each of our individual workshops. Due to our success, we were invited to repeat our workshops at The University of Sydney’s 2016 Open Day. Year 2 Business Planning (2015)In this unit, I was a part of a team of interdisciplinary engineers where we formed a mock start up tech company Wirad Technologies and pitched our idea at ATP: Innovations. The project included planning, strategy development, assessment of a business proposition, and financial planning.Since our initial proposal was fundamentally flawed, I took up the role of an opportunistic leader. A week before the pitch, I helped re-design the product and convinced all members of its potential and viability. Due to my intervention, our group won an award from Michel Quinn, Venture Capitalist during our pitch at ATP Innovations. Undergraduate Mechatronics Engineer
As a Mechatronics Engineer, I am being educated in three different disciplines simultaneously alongside my primary major, Mechatronics Space. My knowledge from Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering only serves to assist my major, as Mechatronics is at the cusp of these three disciplines. I am currently maintaining a distinction average weighted average mark (WAM) of 81.13.As a Mechatronics Engineer my role is to design and create mechanical electrical systems and to write the required software that operates these systems. I have worked on multiple projects during my studies including an autonomous parrot tracker, ECG system and a prototype cube satellite. I am currently working on my Honours project which is a Drone Tracking System using monopulse acoustic tracking which I aim to get working up to a distance 1km with a mobile app interface.
Defence Engineering Internship Program
Awarded one of 30 national placements with the Department of Defence's Defence Engineering Internship Program 2016-2017 with Jenkins Engineering Defence Systems (JEDS). I was responsible for designing an antenna array for JED’s low-cost Radar Electronic Support (R-ES) system for the Australian Navy’s lightweight and patrol ships.I performed FEA analysis using Solidworks Premium Dynamics on the array and created a configuration that complied with the US Navy Military Standard 901D. Additionally, I was tasked with analyzing the supporting bolts for JED’s Periscope Antenna Unit on the Collins class submarine. Furthermore, I underwent a formal week long training course for Solidworks Simulation 2016 and Solidworks Premium: Dynamics offered by an instructor from intercad.
Tutor
As a tutor, it is my job to not only keep the content interesting and engaging, but also kept be at a level at which students can understand. A balance must be kept so that the classroom is not too slow for the talented students but also not too fast for the struggling students. For me, tutoring was less about writing equations on the board, but rather engaging with the students on an individual level as it was a targeted teaching style that yielded the best results for my students.
Internship
During my internship, I worked as a web designer and was responsible for designing the company's website. During the internship I received exposure to Wordpress and HTML when creating the website. However more importantly, I was responsible for condensing all of the company's information into small sections and to attract and keep the attention of readers. I did research on the company's technology and that of competitors and the company's position within the medical technology industry. In addition, I consulted with the board of directors as to what the company's goals were. Through the website I was responsible for engaging readers with their idea for a cheap radiotherapy treatment device. Although the internship was short, I managed to deliver the final product on time and obtained the approval of the board of directors.
