As Principal at BP Ventures ( BPV), together with Jeremy Frost, we work with a group of select privately owned entities. We provide management support services, consulting to family owned businesses, and help in facilitating organizational transitions. Additionally, we evaluate business acquisitions and operations opportunities for potential personal investment, have on going real estate development projects and spend time with community involvement and non profit support. Based in Ada, MI, BPV operates and consults with it’s current network and is open to new consulting clients and business opportunities. After retiring from Amway Corporation as Vice Chairman in 2018, in addition to BPV, I been able to participate with my two sons in their family business endeavors. My oldest son. Rob, is President of R.A. Miller Industries, Inc and Will, is actively involved leading TRELLIS. Both of the businesses are owned by my family and get management guidance and support from BPV. Over the years I have been known for my collaborative leadership style and my ability to drive execution and guide leadership through times of change. I accomplish this through creating an environment of trust, open communication and a resolve to bring parties together to find the ultimate right solutions for opportunities and/or challenges that present themselves. I have become known as an experienced decisive C- suite executive who understands the importance of humility and serving the needs of others in leadership while at the same time driving for maximum performance.I also have extensive experience in counseling family businesses during times of transition and succession. I played a key role in helping guide Amway’s family leadership from the first to second generation and help put in place family governance processes to enable a sound working relationship between family owners and professional management. As I look to the future, I would enjoy advising and assisting other families as they contemplate how to transition between generational ownership. Together, Jeremy and I bring over 60 years of experience in family business leadership and transitions to our clients. On the personal side, I have been married to my wife Jillane for 47 years and we have three children, all married. I have three grandchildren. I am actively involved in my community and church. I am a Christ follower. I enjoy golf, boating, skiing and a range of physical activities. I also enjoy mentoring other men who are trying to balance family, work and their faith.
