We set out to build a new breed of live, collaborative, web-based developer tools. Learned some tough product management lessons, although there were many technical triumphs.MarkUp had a few major applications:* marketing site (jekyll, jquery, gulp, sass)* management platform (vue, vuex, mongodb, mongoose) - lots of notifications and automation, especially around engagement: sendgrid, mailchimp, slack* client app to work with pages (express, mongodb, mongoose, socket.io, S3) - Forward proxy to ingest a url and create static "pages" - Event driven architecture - Custom analytics pipeline (this was a mistake to build) - Custom built vdom lib modeled after React, but as minimal as possible - Custom state management lib modeled after Flux - Live code changes and commenting via websocket, visible to all team-members on a page - Security features for live updating JS inside pages* browser plugin (chrome) - way to create "pages" out of sites running on localhost or "screenshot" HTML of sites powered by JS (Angular, React, etc.)The founder's dilemma: The most exciting thing to build isn't necessary what customers need.

Leading the upcoming web series Manzanita from Development through Marketing. Manzanita is a survival story about a young man caught up in serious criminal activity. It was shot on location in the Joshua Tree area in Southern California and melds beautiful visuals with an arresting story. We have created something that truly stands out and are excited to share it with the world. Our goal is to showcase the "Manzanita" brand as a talent-fueled force in web media through strong, consistent branding.
