Extensive knowledge of agriculture and financial management. I operated a commercial grain farming operation while obtaining my education. Following graduation from SIU, I was employed as a Crop Management Specialist, and advanced to Crop Production Manager, where I spent 18 years in agribusiness management. I changed careers and was employed as a Financial Loan Officer for about 5 years helping farmers with their farm financial management and credit needs. In 2000 I began work with the U of M Extension, in the area of risk management, focusing on teaching farm management and marketing curricula throughout Minnesota. I also taught farm families how to begin the farm transition process to the next generation. I retired from the University of Minnesota Extension in 2014.I am currently employed as Ag Services Director with Marshall and Pennington Counties in Minnesota. My duties include providing education and consulting services to farmers, landowners and homeowners. I serve as County Ag inspector for both counties. My duties also include Solid Waste Administrator for Pennington County and Grant Writing for Marshall County. In 2015 I was elected to serve as Chairman of the Marshall County Soybean / Corn Growers Association. I also serve as Plot Coordinator for Marshall, Pennington/Red Lake, and Polk Counties Soybean and Corn Grower Associations.My goals are to continue offering consulting services for farms and agri-businesses and to secure grant funding for non-profit organizations.
