Master of Towing Vessel; Houston Ship Channel Responsible for the safe navigation of hazardous liquid materials from dock to dock in the Houston Ship Channel. Transferred barges as Relief Captain from fleet to dock throughout the Houston Ship Channel from the city docks all the way to Baytown with the jack-up tug, M/V Arabian;  Ship handling and communicate passing agreements with other vessels during transits in the intracostal waterways; Gulf of Mexico and Western Rivers as well as adapting maneuvers depending due to changes in weather and the elements (winds and currents) Familiar with and transferred barges in Corpus Christi, TX to Mobile, AL intracostal waterways as well as the Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio rivers. Accountable for safety and security drills held on the vessel.  Involved in internal and external audits, ensuring all USCG documents are up to date. Ensuring the vessel is up to maintenance and in excellent working order for USCG inspectors. Supervise safe transfer from ship to shore / ship-to-ship hazardous liquids. Assisted in the Hurricane Ike relief efforts with clean up and reorganization of the ship channel, including consolidating debris, loose barges and damage docks/platforms. Proficient in PIC; person in charge for barge and ship dangerous cargo
