About Bing Fan
I graduated with a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in June 2017. My advisor was Prof. Paul Siegel. Before that, I received the B.S. degree in ECE from University of Michigan Joint Institute (UMJI), Shanghai Jiao Tong university(SJTU), China, in 2011.My Ph.D. research focused on channel modeling, error event analyzing, and designing practical detection algorithms for ultra-high density magnetic recording. I worked as a research intern in Western Digital Corp., Cnex Labs, and SanDisk, in 2012, 2015, 2016, respectively.I am self-motivated in the areas of deep learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. I am enthusiastic in applied mathematics and theoretical analysis. My skills include programming in C/C++, Matlab, Java, and python.I am an outgoing person, a good listener, and a good presenter. In my spare time I like reading, dancing, painting, and playing guitar.
