I’m an experienced researcher and scientist with a proven track record of applying advanced analytical techniques to complex datasets. My background includes computational/systems neuroscience, data science and machine learning, which has helped me develop a broad array of skills in project management, experimental design, inferential statistics, scientific communication, and data visualization. I’ve fascinated by information processing: what it means—and what it requires—to think, perceive, reason, and experience. William Gibson’s "Burning Chrome" anthology inspired me to look beyond philosophy and literature to neuroscience and artificial intelligence. I studied how the brain processes sound information during my doctoral training in Neural Science at NYU, and how the brain processes visual information during my postdoctoral training at UCLA. Now, my colleagues and I study the neural basis of age-related hearing loss, and leverage deep neural networks to model the receptive field preferences of higher-order auditory cortices. I want to leverage knowledge to build technologies that enrich and extend people’s lives—cyberpunk sans dystopia. I try to bring innovative perspectives and intellectual rigor to interesting to impactful problems and opportunities.
