Working on features and tools to improve performance of the Bing search engine throughout the whole stack from the user(studying user behavior) and the browser(analyzing individual browser performance for optimization) to the server(adding new features to improve the speed and guiding teams for performance, tuning the network, etc) and the back-end(finding performance issues on features and fixing them). Contributed to saving hundreds of milliseconds of page load time for the Bing search page result.

Moved to the Bing UX Performance team after briefly moving to Live Labs for a couple of months before it shut down. Although the title was an sdet, the main job function was a performance engineer. The current 2 main mission is to prevent regressions from happening with all the new releases every month and work on new features to improve the existing performance. Performance on an online service is one of the quality measurement by itself.--I moved to Redmond on august of 2009 and change my role again as a QA for STBI(Server and Tools Business International) to help the core teams successfully test the products in a international perspective.Half of the current work is more of a PM than an SDET. I get involved in creating test plans, schedules and coordinating resources. Give consultation to the core team regarding the globalization/localization work and educate them if needed.Current projects I own: WPF, Windows Azure Tools, Visual Studio 2010 Language Pack, KittyHawk, Windows Phone 7 Tools.

Involved products: Visual Studio, .NET Framework, Silverlight.Have been working in the Developer Division since 2004.First job was testing each product units in an international perspective for the Korean market. I was the first to create a lab environment with 50+ machines with an automated machine preparation environment(UIP) among East Asia. That led us to use the maddog test automation locally in a more improved fashion. The products that I owned were: All language(Visual C++/C#, Visual Basic, Visual J#), VSTE for DBAs, IIS7, Ux tools(Expression Suite), Visual Studio 2005, VSTE for DBAs.During the phase, I spoke in Korean conferences and gave a lot of support to the local communities and I'm still managing to keep contact with the the Korean DPE team. I've helped the Expression Blend team find a lot of blocking bugs in the early stages of the first version which was critical for the international market.The model for East Asia changed to be vertical and we had to take care of all the other Visual Studio languages, not just Korean. Role changed to bridge the testing vendor and the core team, so a lot of PM work had to be done rather than the actual testing work. Things like creating and reviewing test plans, coordinating vendor work and scheduling the test passes had to be done throughout. The products in include:Client Technologies + Client Dev Tools, WPF/Silverlight.I've been interested in Silverlight since v1 of the product and gave a big amount of feedback to the product team and consulted/helped the Korean DPE team deploying it. Beyond testing Silverlight as my daily job which had a huge test matrix(40+ languages), I've persuaded the product team to add IME support to the product which took a very long time for them to realize it was needed and eventually got permission to do some dev work for the feature because they didn't have the resources to add the feature.

Truegate was a Fingerprint Recognition Technology Company.I lead developing a distributed authentication server suite for the company's fingerprint device. Server-side specific to Microsoft technologies(IIS/ASP.NET/COM/COM+/WS), Client-side semi cross platform. The client's technology wasn't tied to any platform since it communicates with the server using WS standards. The limit was that the client library existed only for windows/linux.
