This position covers a broad spectrum: I engage with researchers (sometimes embedded in a lab) to build or tailor HP/TC (high-performance/throughput computing) solutions in their application domain. I also develop and support general purpose high-throughput computing tools. The former activities provide useful insights which I apply to designing and building research computing infrastructure.

Member of MeSsAGE Lab. Work on distributed computing middleware for clusters, grids and clouds. Maintain the ARCS/APAC Nimrod Portal, the East Enterprisegrid cluster and provide grid support to other sites. Collaborate with lab contacts in various fields to apply grid computing techniques to large science problems (lots of cardiology, chemistry, engineering, etc.).

Investigated application of constraint logic programming techniques to access control scenarios required for research data & publication repositories. Worked in conjunction with the ARROW team within the Monash Library and Faculty of IT academics. Designed a prototype, added several new features to the existing XACML based policy engine, did a technical feasibility analysis.
