About Blake Hall
I’m a senior Mechanical Engineering student studying at MSOE, graduating in May 2024. I have diverse internship and hands-on, team-oriented project experience. I am also a NCAA Baseball athlete devoting 20 hours a week and working 10 hours a week with full class schedule. Skills in MATLAB, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office. I am looking for a full-time Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering intern position starting May 2023- please contact me at hallb@msoe.edu or (262) 623-7900.My grandpa was my first influence that made me decide I want to become an Engineer. He owned plenty of snowmobiles, motorcycles, and cars, and him teaching me how to work on his machines led me to be extremely interested in mechanical design. He was also an avid woodworker, and we built crazy things together all the time such as boomerangs and even an enclosed sled to pull behind his snowmobiles. These projects led me to create some dumb inventions of my own in my early high school days- some of the most notable being a mini aluminum foundry to create metal parts for a crossbow, a pneumatic air cannon, and rocket fuel made from pool chlorine. These explorations made me extremely interested in Engineering and ever since then I knew I wanted a degree in Mechanical Engineering.I chose MSOE because I want a great education. I know several alumni from MSOE, and every one of them jokingly told me not to go here when I was choosing a college because the difficulty would make me hate my life for four years. While it is really tough to manage this demanding school (especially while playing baseball), I love being challenged and I know it will be worth it when I graduate. Now that I have been a student for three years and have diverse internship experience, I have realized that I want to find a career where I am directly helping people. This has led me to be extremely interested in the medical applications of Engineering. Using my knowledge of machine component design to create medical devices is my dream. Combining Mechanical Engineering with Biomechanics would be my ideal way to explore my love for mechanical design while making a big impact on people’s lives. However, I am open to any opportunity.I am proud to be part of the MSOE baseball team. I have been a starter the three seasons I have been here so far and my sophomore year we ended up winning our conference. My junior year I was also awarded conference player of the year. Experiences from being a part of this family have allowed me to develop strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Senior Design Engineering Project Team Leader
Problem Statement: Pitching machines that are affordable to most baseball teams lack the ability to quickly change pitch types and quickly reset after throwing a pitch. The team will experiment with a novel design to create a scale model meeting these requirements to prove that a full-scale machine could feasibly be sold for under $6,000: making it affordable for most teams.

Mechanical Engineering Intern
• Worked in an aluminum high-pressure die cast plant to facilitate optimal part production with an emphasis in secondary operations. • Was responsible for designing and then sometimes fabricating essential components of lines such as part crowders, robot gripper fingers, conveyors, etc.• Oversaw prototype part production which included delegating jobs to hourly workers as well as deriving and documenting quality data.• Drafted detailed CAD models of existing equipment including an entire die cast machine.
