My name is Blake Osborn, and I am currently the Outdoor Pursuit’s Coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University, as well as a Human Performance Ph.D. student with a concentration in Outdoor Recreation Management. I value innovation, effective leadership, and recreation-based community, and have extensive experience with a variety of programming, collaborations, diversity and inclusion, and the importance of retaining a strong relationship with clients. I oversee over 60 special events and complex recreation trips annually that require project management, attention to detail, and coordination of undergraduate staff and hundreds of student participants.I have experience recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring staff, and in my current role as the Outdoor Pursuit’s Coordinator, I have managed a staff of 25 students and interns. Additionally, I manage a comprehensive budget of $85,000 and have been awarded multiple grants exceeding $145,000, have the skills to find additional external funding opportunities, and have annually increased program revenue. I have also had the opportunity to serve on a broad range of committees which has allowed me to obtain new partnerships, deepen exiting relationships, and spotlight our team's dedication to student development across departmental boarders. In addition to my professional career, I have had the opportunity to do extensive research regarding college students regarding leadership, mental health, college students, and diversity, and look forward to implementing my findings in the future.
