Starting his career in oil and gas straight from university in Glasgow, Michael joined the first industry leader in subsea automation welding (one mile underwater). Soon after, Michael joined Schlumberger as an engineer and spent the next 9 years in many roles within the oilfield giant winning several client and internal awards.Michael continued his career with the start-up engineering firm Merlin ERD Ltd, where he was instrumental in growing the small company into a world engineering powerhouse in complex well engineering. From teaching around the world to drill center designs for full offshore field development, Michael has built a solid background in global drilling and completions markets, understanding the dynamics from supplier selection and evaluation to complex project management.
