Tonkin + Taylor is an engineering and environmental consultancy based in New Zealand, with a reputation for quality, innovation and technical excellence.Since 2012, I have worked from the Wellington office on a diverse range of geotechnical and civil engineering projects. This has included local sites and remote sites in both NZ and overseas. My responsibilities include:• Geotechnical site investigation of a variety of civil engineering projects including a wind farm, large and small dams, seismic strengthening projects, and road and rail transportation corridors.• Geological site characterisation, including collation of factual data sets and their interpretation.• Slope stability assessment, mapping, sub-surface investigation, appraisal of slopes prone to instability, and concept remediation solutions.• Construction supervision including geotechnical verification of large foundations, rock anchor installation and testing, earthworks supervision, and retaining wall construction.• Project management, including preparation of work proposals, day-to-day management of project teams, and financials.
