CurrentAt Venerable, I oversee a team responsible for the management of our cloud computing, network, network security, identity, and monitoring infrastructure. I provide guidance and mentorship to develop my team's competencies in delivering secure, available, and performant services in a cloud-first environment.Experience highlights:Security:* Manage all aspects of network security, including Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Network Access Control (NAC), wireless, and remote access both within our cloud and physical office networks* Create threat models to evaluate the effectiveness of cloud and network security controls* Manage workload/account segregation based on function and data sensitivity* Create security policies for network, cloud platforms, compute, and identity environments* Design architecture of new services that provide resiliency and business continuity* Evaluate compliance with security frameworks and demonstrate the effectiveness of controls for audit and regulatory needs* Create tools and reports that provide visibility into cloud accounts, instances, and services* Manage vulnerabilities including decisions regarding compensating controls, workarounds, or remediation* Investigate security events and incidentsInfrastructure:* Decision maker for infrastructure and network technology choices* Program leadership, including planning, engaging IT and business stakeholders, and proactively identifying and managing risks of multiple simultaneous projects with potential business impact* Build and deploy new technology and capabilities within Venerable's cloud infrastructure* Automate the delivery of commonly provisioned infrastructure components (compute, storage), including integration of Infrastructure as code (IaC) practices* Create and implement a multi-cloud strategy* Manage the lifecycle of physical (network equipment) and cloud assets (instance generations)* Develop operational processes to identify waste and manage cloud spend
