About Brandon Milhorn
The dual-banking system, led by the commitment and integrity of state supervisors, makes the United States financial system the envy of the world. Established in 1902, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) advocates for effective regulation, supervision, and consumer protections to foster this dynamic, competitive, and innovative financial sector. In December 2023, I joined CSBS as President and CEO, where I lead a dedicated team that provides our members - state supervisors from across the nation - with advocacy, policy development, technology, and training to support their operations. Before joining CSBS, I held senior leadership roles at the FDIC, including Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer, managing strategic priorities for a 6,000-employee, $2 billion enterprise. At the FDIC, I worked with senior leaders, Congress, and industry stakeholders to drive innovation in financial services, modernize internal systems and processes, and strengthen internal controls and operations across the FDIC’s 80+ locations. My career began in national security and defense, where I spent over a decade, and served in several positions, including Staff Director on the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, General Counsel on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Honors Attorney at the Central Intelligence Agency, and private sector roles with Raytheon Corporation. I also served in judicial clerkships on the Fifth Circuit and for the Southern District of Texas.
