About Bob Olson

My primary calling is as a Presbyterian Pastor and a Masters trained Marriage & Family Therapist (35 yrs.). Over the course of my 78 years I have invested significant time and energy in the avocations of: Teaching, (25 yrs.) K-Grad School); Psychotherapy (35 yrs.); Business (25 yrs.); Hospital Chaplaincy (5 years); Home Builder/Remodeler (6 years); Conservationist (12 years) Solar Energy, Gardening, Aquaculture, Wine Making,); Sailor (lived 8 years on a sailboat sailing between the Chesapeake Bay and the Florida Keys). I am currently writing a column for Seniors in the Lancaster newspaper LNP. Also, I am looking to establish an affiliation with a local nonprofit so that I can do business as the Lancaster Tiny Homes Neighborhood addressing quality of life issues for the poor and homeless persons in our community.     My latest avocation is as a writer. I have a column titled "Especially for Seniors, and those with the courage to wonder what it like to grow old." I attempt to address those very personal and internal issues that people are uncomfortable talking about especially for Seniors in our culture. I try to come at them head-on, with honesty, humor, and ,at times scarcasm. I hope my articles will contribute to the wellness, thinking, and conversations in the Lancaster community.
