From early rocket experience (1957) with United Aircraft Research Lab, spent two years with Rocket Test Facility (AEDC) and jumped to NASA Space Task Group in 1960, becoming 60th employee in manned space flight program at Langley Field. After Project Mercury, Apollo Project Office in Houston (1962). Moved to NASA Hq later that year as Program Manager for advanced Launch Vehicle Propulsion in Office of Manned Space Flight. Managed (and cancelled) development program for M-1 , 1,500,000 lb-thrust Oxygen/Hydrogen engine for Nova launch vehicle which was to follow Saturn V. Managed R&D for high-pressure O2/H2 engines leading to Space Shuttle main engines. At end of "real" space program in 1969, studied Management Science and worked in advanced concept studies until 1978 when loaned to NATO as Executive of Fluid Dynamics Panel, AGARD. in Paris, France. Returned to NASA Hq in 1986 and retired in 1988.
