Our organization regulates and inspects drilling/workover/abandonment/completion/production operations in Gulf of Mexico Federal Waters. I lead the Well Operations section which provides oversight for Drilling, Workover, Abandonment and Completion activity. Our team is comprised of Inspectors, Field Engineers, Workover Engineers and Drilling Engineers. The inspection staff and field engineers fly offshore daily to inspect operations in the Houma District area of oversight. In addition to managing our team I perform the duties of a Drilling/Workover Engineer with direct involvement in daily well operations as well as review of proposed drilling, workover, completion, and abandonment operations.

We configure, monitor and maintain surface and down-hole equipment used for measurement and logging of oil and gas well formation.Initial employment began with extensive training in Formation Measurement/Logging technology as well as various processes applied. A large focus was placed upon knowledge of tool operation as well as integration between various surface and down hole systems.

Particle Image Velocimitry (PIV) evaluation of vena cava filters, with a focus on determination of effectiveness of capture and lysing of blood clots to prevent pulmonary embolism.Use of high speed video to evaluate cavitation in artificial heart valves, which may lead to pitting, fracture and possibly destruction of valve.Investigation into the effect of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) on tissue during treatment, in areas other than focal point where destruction of cancerous cells is desired.
