At BloomTech I have been fortunate to work on every part of the stack and have learned so much along the way. My role is a mixture of making big architectural decisions that shape the direction of the code base as well as digging in and working through issues from our ticketing system. I love working at both ends of the spectrum. I believe that the best architectural decisions are made by understanding what the implications of those decisions are on the code base and how they will effect the day to day lives of the developers working in the code base.I have also found great joy and fulfillment in mentoring other developers on the team. At our weekly engineering meetings, I will often bring example code from our code base that I think could be improved and talk through my thought process. I try to give meaningful code reviews with that same approach of focusing more on the "why" behind my suggestions.The technologies that I have worked with over my time at BloomTech include:- TypeScript & Node.js- React, Next.js & Remix- TDD, Mocha & Jest- REST & GraphQL- Postgres- Kafka & RabbitMQ- Heroku & AWS

At iFit I worked on the web team building the front-end and back-end of our web application, as well as developing API endpoints for our mobile apps.I was also a mentor to several new hires. I was responsible for introducing them to the code base and helping them understand the big architectural picture of everything, but also trying to impart on them how I thought about writing software in general.I think my greatest contribution to the team was when I introduced unit and integration tests; Prior to that point, there were no automated tests of any kind, and all testing was done manually by a QA team.
