Civil Engineer responsible for planning and design of public infrastructure including water, sewer, storm and streets for new residential and industrial development in City of Lawrence and Douglas County, Kansas.

Houston, Texas Area

Responsible for review and modification of flood insurance for Harris County, Texas, as part of the Harris County Flood Hazard Study. Work consisted of hydraulic analysis of several major bayou systems throughout Harris County and updating HEC-2 hydraulic models to reflect channel improvements implemented by Harris County Flood Control District. Flood profiles, floodplain maps, and floodway boundary maps produced from the study were accepted by the Harris County Flood Control District and Federal Emergency Management Agency, and became effective on September 27, 1985. Following completion of the Flood Hazard Study, regional flood control plans were prepared for major watersheds including White Oak Bayou and Greens Bayou.

Houston, Texas Area

Responsible for determination of design floods, flood frequencies, flood stage and velocity, river bed scour and lateral river channel migration as a basis of river crossing designs for the proposed 48-inch natural gas pipeline, and river/floodplain gravel extraction sites for the Northwest Alaskan Natural Gas Pipeline Project, along the 750-mile pipeline route from Prudhoe Bay to the Yukon Territories.

Responsible for research and development of a drought alert system as part of a drought contingency manual for Kansas municipal water utilities. The manual was prepared for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE).
